Proceedings & Publication

• Authors are encouraged to share data (or indicate which public datasets wre used) and models (especially for deep learning/AI).
• Proceedings will be published by SPIE & available as part of the SPIE Digital Library
  • Authors must be authorized to transfer copyright of the manuscript to SPIE, or provide a suitable publication license.
  • Only papers presented at the conference and received according to publication guidelines and timelines will be published in the conference Proceedings of SPIE in the SPIE Digital Library.
  • SPIE partners with relevant scientific databases to enable researchers to find the papers in the Proceedings of SPIE easily. The databases that abstract and index these papers include Astrophysical Data System (ADS), Ei Compendex, CrossRef, Google Scholar, Inspec, Scopus, and Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation Index

• Authors will have the opportunity to submit full papers to the Journal of Medical Imaging (they will be peer-reviewed, publication not guaranteed)
  • JMI is now indexed in PubMed.
  • JMI allows for the peer-reviewed communication and archiving of scientific developments, translational and clinical applications, reviews, and recommendations for the field.
  • JMI covers fundamental and translational research, as well as applications, focused on medical imaging, which continue to yield physical and biomedical advancements in the early detection, diagnostics, and therapy of disease as well as in the understanding of normal.
  • The scope of JMI includes:
    • Imaging physics
    • Tomographic reconstruction algorithms (such as those in CT and MRI)
    • Image processing and deep learning
    • Computer-aided diagnosis and quantitative image analysis
    • Visualization and modeling
    • Picture archiving and communications systems (PACS)
    • Image perception and observer performance
    • Technology assessment
    • Ultrasonic imaging
    • Image-guided procedures
    • Digital pathology
    • Biomedical applications of biomedical imaging

    Original submissions due: 15 September 2018

    First round of review completed, and decision sent to author: 1 March 2019

    Revised manuscripts due: 15 May 2019

    Re-reviews due (if necessary): 15 July 2019

Final accepted manuscripts ready for production: 1 August 2019
